That was an interesting video, thanks.

I've been halfass pondering alternate ideas to how an engine could generate usable power...as in electricity. Right now, it's all about converting the power "made" in to rotating kinetic energy, which is then used to generate electricity...why not skip the rotating part and have the movement of the piston itself - as a moving magnet - convert the kinetic energy directly in to electricity?

Yeah, lots of technical issues to overcome, but you'd cut out a lot of friction and moving parts.

Ok, back to reality now. (Someone else can figure out how to do it).
