It's a low investment, low penalty mod. I did it to conserve wiper blades.
I have not pressure tested but I have tuft tested the windshield, A-pillar and side window. The tufts at the base of the windshield flow forward down into the cabin intake even with the ventilation fan off and the “recirculation” button pressed. The wipers are inside a high pressure/low velocity bubble. Nothing to be gained by removal of wipers on my car.
