EDIT: Just looked up terraforming Mars, and it turns out if we converted all trapped sources of CO2 and water, we would end up bringing Mars air density up from 1% of Earth, to 7%.

We would need to crash a comet into Mars or something to get the material required to terraform. Either that, or we need to master converting atoms from one element to another in bulk, which would be extremely energy intensive. Probably easier to crash things into Mars.
Probably best to start crashing things into it now when we hardly have anything built up there.
My next question is how rapidly would solar wind blow the newly created atmosphere away?
