If I'm not mistaken, the H2 cars actually NEED gaping maws for fuel cell-related heat exchange duties.

This was my conclusion as well.
My EV of choice right now is probably the Ioniq Plug-in. The depreciation on these is so sharp, that even 2017 models are a steal. Unfortunately they're still outside of my price range.
