I always take brake mods with a grain of salt. When it comes to vented drums, AFAIK there were some which were made that way catering to the hot-rod scene, but I wouldn't be really willing to try it. Most users of vehicles with all-around drum brakes in my country claim it to be more reliable under harsh environmental conditions, and venting it would be out of question to prevent debris to get into the drums. IIRC the Mitsubishi Canter for example, even though resorting to all-around disc brakes on its RWD variants in Europe, gets drums all around for the 4WD ones.
