Just because I could..... I went and looked and they all have a metric slotted screw listed doesn't say Lh threads.
The retaining screw goes back at least 55 years that I know of. Left hand screws on threaded morse chucks.
It's a really odd chuck on a one off model. Hmmm shouldn't be non responsive to hammer whacking if it moved off unless it's a press fit straight shank. Should warm it up some then whack (gently)
