I remember some cars used to have different tire sizes according to which markets they were sent. It might not be the case with Asian automakers, but the so-called "tropicalization" is still quite common to enhance some European cars' chance of not turning into a pile of scrapmetal as soon as they hit the first pothole right after they're taken out the boat.
