Eight hundred dollars for all of that?! Each time that I have paid for a timing belt replacement they charged $1,000 for just the timing belt!

I just found out that an old roommate replaced his S10. Allegedly all it needed was to top off the AC, but that is never true.

The other day I chatted with an old friend. He was the first one to tell me the imaginary Japanese law that all cars must have their engines replaced after 60,000 miles.

You know, before they are broken in.

I had a prelude that died a sad death and then a rav4 that was destroyed by a dishonest mechanic. Now I have a Equinox.
I asked about the Rav4:

The engine had like 40k when I got it, but it only got like another 15k before a mechanic "fixed" the and basically made it undriveable.
There is nothing like talking to non-car people to find yourself with more questions than when you started!
