Isn't stop and go traffic a kind of battery oriented demand? I suspect it is oriented towards electric useage as a primary power source until it needs the motor to recharge which would mean that it is primarily gas fueled on a long trip with short bursts of all electric for the duration of electric range thereby reducing the gas comsumption and increasing the reported mileage average.
