OK, it was what Vekke wrote that had me confused then. He said "If someone wants to test wheelcover savings easy in their car this is the way to go".

Of course, this isn't a way of testing wheel cover savings at all; it's a way of covering the wheel with plastic sheet.

How one then tests the saving (or otherwise) resulting from that is, to me, the important question.
