Sounds a K20 swap. I don't know if you would see much of a fuel economy gain. The necessary transmission swap would mean much shorter gearing. But you could definitely see 155 HP from a K20 (stock), which is maybe 60 more than your car had in 1993. But an L15 engine out of a recent Honda Fit would be 130 HP and prolly much more eco-friendly. Cheaper too (at least for the engine).
