Unless you cut the fuselage of an aircraft to make it easier to transport with more trucks, instead of a single one which would face more restrictions to the traffic while hauling an entire fuselage, the logistics become much more complex and expensive. I remember when a scrapped 727 was moved away from the airport in my hometown. On a sidenote, I guess you know the pressure cycles are quite hard on the airframe, so when it's retired it's quite predictable the price would go way down...
