120v and 240v root mean square is US residential standard. 110 and 220 was an older standard.
Single phase is also US residential standard.
Confusing because the voltage at 1 wire goes positive as the voltage at the other goes negative with respect to ground.

Isn't the correct term called "split phase."
It's also an inverted polarity to neutral, not just ground, which is connected to ground but for some reason isn't called ground.
The funny thing is electricity in the US has neutral, but no drive or reverse.
