I figure if I know or can find out easily where it came from then the meat is most likely fine to eat, it's not hard to get good locally raised food and it is often fresher, tastes better, cheaper and better for you.
If I get the time I want to try bow hunting this year, never done it before but it seems like a good skill to have and the deer are close enough to the house that I shouldn't have to go far and I already know what they've been eating.
I also have to recommend that if any of you hit a deer this winter with your car that you call it in and get a tag to keep it, otherwise you are just wasting food.
