Hmmm. The inspections I have been part of: if the inspector cant observe it, you fail and get to take it apart. Once it's done, the inspector doesn't get involved unless there's a jurisdiction requirement after major damage.

I don't once again see that point.

Hence all the goofy electrical on my current house. The HVAC electrical I just had, said my existing wiring was weird, but wouldn't go any further and bought off just the AC wiring. The inspection slip also points out that there is no consideration for the legality of existing systems.
