Changed the oil at 3000 miles in the Prius after swapping to 0w-40. 4.4 quarts in. Added 30oz of oil. 4 quarts came out. So it consumed 1.34 quarts over 3000 miles. So we are burning a quart every ~2300 miles.
Also, I unplugged the egr valve electrical connector and the knock dissappeared so the egr cooler does need to be cleaned.
Threw my first cel, but no limp mode and no change in mpg. Just instantly cleared up and runs like new again. (still getting 52-58mpg on average 54)
I'm thinking about just leaving the egr valve unplugged to give this car the egr delete that every gen 3 prius deserves.
