Direct Air Capture
' neighbors loaned me their Nov / Dec issue of Mother Jones, with a lengthy article on carbon sequestration.
Presently, to avert going over 1.5-C, and with available technology, to remove the anticipated real-time, coal-fired , and natural-gas-fired, power plant carbon dioxide emissions, plus remove the anthropogenic carbon already in the atmosphere, would require $ eleven-trillion/ year, for the next 79-years, at $ 869-trillion total cost. ( US Dollars )
We can do it with trees, if we're willing to get rid of 80% of all current agricultural production. A hard sell.
PS
UNESCO just reported that some of the World Heritage Site forests are now, net carbon emitters, releasing more carbon than capturing, as a consequence of over two decades of drought and wildfires around the globe.
Have a nice day.
