Shanxi Province, China solar
PBS had a piece on China's primary coal district the other night. Photovoltaics and wind turbines as far as the eye could see in places. They've turned off some of their dirtiest coal-fired power plants.
They're looking at accelerated near-term carbon emissions, perhaps peaking in 2025, to make the leap to renewables for the long-term. As in the USA.
India currently shows seven ( 7) Indians' carbon footprint = one (1) American.
