Even being told is fine, just as long as it's not coercion. Facui can tell me to get a vaccine so long as he and others have no authority to make me get one.
I'm further implying that regulatory groups in medicine unduly restrict patient access to therapies they choose, and artificially prop up the cost of medicine with those restrictions. For instance, by limiting the number of physicians, or by requiring prescriptions.
In Oregon, it's legal for me to shoot up heroin if I want to, but illegal for me to get prescription strength Tylenol without a prescription.
With the internet, and as AI becomes more effective than doctors, the over-regulation of medicine will increasingly be harmful to patient outcomes. I'm certain there will be laws still requiring a doctor (a single individual) to make medical determinations decades after AI (database with every symptom ever reported to compare to) becomes more effective.
M.D. is a sacred position within our culture. If liberals really wanted to disrupt an institution and compel a positive change, medicine is the low hanging fruit. Punching doctors isn't as exciting as punching imagined Nazis though.
