Let's think about this. Say you find a $12k used car. Put $3k down. Sell the jalopies for, say, $2k. Now you only owe $7k. A monthly payment on that is probably less than $150. You could pay for that in all kinds of ways. Become a male gigolo. Sell blood plasma... But most importantly, you wouldn't have to miss work anymore.
