This one's got Xist's name on it. $6, you better jump on the deal.

Life, uh, finds a way.

Our friend freebeard must have snatched up the last $6 set!

Those don't seem to be designed to handle the pressure that vertical sheet metal would apply, though.

This morning I tried to confirm my appointments an hour away, put Mom's car back in its spot, my Camry in the gravel, and left a spot for my Accord in the driveway, but ran to Walmart to get something for the client whose mom never confirmed.

I think that I will return it the next time I am out that way.

I stopped by the Toyota dealership, but in my rush attempting to be on-time for that appointment that never happened, I didn't ensure that my list of bolts printed correctly.

It didn't, so I dejectedly drove home.

Well, more dejectedly than normal.

The mom never confirmed yesterday, either, so I wasn't exactly surprised today, but I did hope that she would learn.

I printed off the correct list and hurried to Toyota where 3 women sat behind a counter. One was on the computer, one was using her phone, and the other was twisted around looking out the window. I crinkled my paper until the one stopped looking out the window and summoned Mr. Parts Man, who had the other woman use her phone elsewhere.

I pondered the correct way to inform a woman that she missed a blouse button while Mr. Parts Man looked up the parts. One washer wouldn't arrive for 5 days, but the rest would be here on Monday or Tuesday.

I just felt frustrated that I lost them.

When we finished I went to quietly mention the lady's clothing issue, but she walked off, so I told the male employee that had been talking with her.

I dropped off my Camry and asked Crazy J to straighten the core supports and fix the high beam wiring. I told him that I ordered the bolts that I was missing and he said he should have something that would fit.

I walked the 1.5 miles home as fast as I could and started driving to see my third client in my Accord, but she was dragging something, so I made the next right half a mile down the road.

Apparently falling off of jack stands popped the trim under my doors loose. It seemed like it would be easy to pop the trim back and replace the black plastic fasteners underneath, but I couldn't do it on the side of the road. I returned home without a problem, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't drag on the highway.

I sent the mom a text that I needed to run home and hammer my car back together and wondered why a crazy in a Camry happened to stop on the other side of the road seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

Popping the trim back and replacing the fasteners turned into finding the fasteners, cranking my steering wheel, removing the screw, removing the trim, twisting and removing the clips, inserting the clips into the trim, popping the trim onto the car, and then replacing the black plastic fasteners underneath.

The fun thing is that when I found the stubby screwdriver that I needed to remove the screw I found the Camry bolts, so I will drop off those at Crazy J's along with some other bits that I found. I am positive that I can replace them when I get the car home, but I would rather give the professional all of the parts.

The mom said she needed to cancel, she shouldn't wait.

So, I was supposed to order replacement fasteners, see 3 clients, and drop off my Camry. I ordered the replacement fasteners, but found the originals, canceled all of those appointments, broke my Accord, fixed my Accord, and dropped off my Camry.

I desperately want a nap, but I am going to try to do paperwork before my 4pm client.

Notes are due tonight and progress reports are due on Monday, but I only have 8 clients, so it shouldn't take too long.

I just read the fine print, and it said not to use it with hydraulic jacks, which explains why there's no weight rating listed.

Not the sort to pay new prices for anything.

More importantly -- which button?

Ever read Don Quixote? Did you identify with the protagonist?

I'm sorry to hear about your car and client problems.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, this quest to maintain two jalopies doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I identify with the windmills

Round round round.

I bet that people will agree with you, yet:

What do you think killed my Accord?

She wants me to look at the high-mileage Accord an hour from me.

Someone posted a Camry with 72,800 miles and she responded "That would be awesome."

That's it? She's not going to help out her brother, who desperately needs a reliable car?
The high-mileage Accord sold before I could look at it. Here I mentioned reaching out to a dealership in-town advertising a Camry and a salesman responded "That's not for sale, but why not put $3,000 down on a $15,000 car?"

Someone in another town posted a 2007 Accord with 178,000 miles, but it has a salvage title.

I already have a car that was in an accident!

I have been trying to fix up my cars and I have been actively searching for something newer and lower-mileage, but it doesn't seem like I will be able to buy anything until I can get to the Phoenix area, but who advises me to attempt a road trip in one of my cars?

Put down your hand, freebeard.

Buckminster Fuller advocated that windmills should be indoors, where they wouldn't harm birds and be easier to work on. He's been gone since 1983! We're out here on our own....

Still doesn't tell us which button.

We've already established this is not the time to be buying cars. The option to fix what you've got seems to be on the table, no?

Let's think about this. Say you find a $12k used car. Put $3k down. Sell the jalopies for, say, $2k. Now you only owe $7k. A monthly payment on that is probably less than $150. You could pay for that in all kinds of ways. Become a male gigolo. Sell blood plasma... But most importantly, you wouldn't have to miss work anymore.
