Those pellets are difficult to start and keep lit unless you have a big core of them burning. You cant just splash starter, light them and go away. I use a big pile and a propane torch.
the main stove has a 5 minute start cycle and the starter element stays on until there's heat comming out of the plenum.

Wonder what forced fan intake would do.
