Not everyone wants to make producing electricity their hobby especially if grid power is cheap and reliable. A quick look at EWEB's website shows a residential rate of $9.14 cents per kWh.
That is were I'm at. I've quoted installing solar on my house twice but I'm not paying enough for electricity to make it worth the bother and the capital I would have to invest to make the switch can get far better returns in other investments.
