So for what I have seen, testosterone seems to be the deciding factor everything else being equal. So hormone negation / enhancement, classes based on levels and BMI.

When the IAAF looked at 21 track and field events they found higher levels of testosterone was helpful in 5, harmful in 3, and had no effect in the remainder
