1) I may not be thinking big enough, but that's not to say that I'm not thinking as big as I can!
2) The spherical Sun, as the source of the Heliopause, carries the solar wind in all directions.
3) 'Downstream' is in all directions. Downstream of what? Downstream of the Heliopause?
4)) If the source of the Heliopause is a sphere, and the average solar wind is of equal magnitude in all directions away from the Sun, it should peter out at the same average distance from the Sun, forming a spherical Heliopause.
5) Since Voyager is the only manmade satellite to ever pass the Heliopause, and it possessed no facility to ascertain the 'shape' of the Heliopause, the actual shape of the heliopause cannot be factually stated. Only theoretically stated.
6) Their isn't a person on Earth that actually knows its shape. By default. Anything you say to the contrary cannot be backed up by observational fact.
