I saw a spool of something next to the road about 100 yards from my house and got excited.
Took a closer look, and it's 144 strand fiber optic cable.
Perhaps the fiber internet I've been anticipating?
Boy, that spool is sitting atop "danger hill", named that because of the sign that says danger hill when approaching the 12% grade. Would be carnage if that spool headed down the hill.
