12.1 years is the average* age of a light-duty vehicle registered in the USA.

The same company says that only 25% of vehicles are 16 years old or older so it seems the manufacturers are correct when they say most hybrid batteries last the life of the vehicle.

*The IHS report that number comes from does not say if that average is Mean, Median, or Mode.
