Before flexfuels became usual in my country, I remember some folks tried to use ethanol in gasoline-powered cars without further mods, believing the EFI would have the ability to "fix" the AFR. I wouldn't try it, even though EFI really makes it easier for most vehicles to also handle better the much-higher ethanol content of Brazilian gasoline without further mods compared to carburettors...
