Ah. Thank you for that information. Please pass it onto my friend if you see her.
Mom said that if I wanted a Xistday cake I needed to bake it myself. I chose a recipe and was going to bake it before driving to see my one client today.
At 12:21 my friend told me when her girls were getting out of school and asked if that worked for me.
No "I know it's your birthday, the last minute, and I refused to discuss this, but can you pick up my girls?"
I ran to the store to get the one thing I absolutely needed and then got in 2 lines to pick up someone else's kids.
I told Mom that I needed her to watch the girls while I saw my client, but when I needed to leave Mom was grocery shopping at Walmart.
Not only was she not home when she was supposed to be, but she wasn't even home when I finished with my client, who was kind enough to work with me through Zoom today.
My friend was. She watched me fill up a big box with Mom's living room clutter.
Since I was supposed to leave I put the cake in the crock pot. The instructions said 2-2.5 hours on high, but it was ready after 1:45.
I didn't have the time to follow the recipe I wanted. I found a boring vanilla one and spread a cup of frozen mangos on top.
I needed 2-3 cups, but there were other problems.
Maybe that is why most recipes call for regular and not cake flour.
While I was washing dishes Mom had my brother and the girls make me little cards.
The girls wrote that they love me and the younger one kept hugging me, but she would probably hug a mugger.
The friend said she needed to be at work at 0545.
"So, see you at 0530?"
"Okay."
Except she sent a message that she would drag her kids around while she drove her route.
Is this because her daughters told me they love me?
