Are my push-up pyramids cardio or weight training?

One of many exercises they had us do in Basic were called pyramids.

You do one push-up, one sit-up, 2 and 2, all of the way up to 10 each, and then you do something else.

Yeah, that is a ramp.

I sometimes do that, but going back down to 1, which does make a pyramid, right?

The best part is that you end up doing 100 of each!

Monk would be so proud!

I started doing sit-ups for cardio a while ago, but that just made my push-ups more difficult when I was already struggling with those.

Doing intervals helped me do many more sit-ups.

Push-ups, too, but I decided to resume doing pyramids instead so I worked more areas.

I don't know how many times I did pyramids. Some gnomes moved south and took up tons of my time, but I have only done a set or two since we severed contact.

It felt wrong to stop with one set on Saturday, but if I go slowly enough, I could go indefinitely.

I figured that if I did another 6-9 then I would be up to 130, which would be progress.

6+9=15, so yes.

However, I don't like doing 1-4 push-ups, rolling over, doing the same number of sit-ups (I do flutterkicks instead), and then just one more of each.

I figured that I could do 5 instead of 1-4.

No, it would be 10.

I thought that I did 2 sets today. I didn't, but it was much closer to 200 than 100.

Math!

Anyway, it was 60°, and I was sweating heavier than I remember perspiring in a while.

I was tired and my hips started hurting, but now that I calmed down, I am not sore at all!

I am doing push-ups for cardio now?!
