First fillup today! Turns out, the low-fuel light (and concomitant tone, plus a menu notification) comes on at 25 miles to empty. The final standings:
- 643.3 mi
- 48.9 mpg
- 24 mi to E
Per the numbers, the truck believed it had 0.49 gal left. But how much fuel did I actually use? Back when I was diligent about tracking my fuel economy, I would stop filling at the first click-off of the pump. But I have no idea what the dealership did. On today's fillup, first click-off happened at 12.8 gallons. But I was able to cram in another gallon without spillover. So…
- 12.8 gal = 50.3 mpg (first click)
- 13.3 gal = 48.3 mpg (Maverick fuel guess)
- 13.8 gal = 46.6 mpg (last click)
The Maverick's estimate is certainly in the ball park. But we'll have to leave accuracy to the Law of Many Fillups!
