I wouldn't know until I tried it. There have been a few gizmos over the years that looked like total poppycock. They just capitalized on laws of physics I hadn't yet learned. One good example is Orgone, Ki, Chi, Life Force Energy, and a few other names. I bought lots of material from H&A Industries (Bowling Green, MO) from Harold Kneiss back in the 90's, before the internet. One of the "books" (more like a cheap photo-copied pamphlet) said to wrap your fuel tank in alternating layers of aluminum foil and wax paper. The claims were upwards of 40% better fuel economy with a noticeable improvement in performance. I read over it and tossed it in the trash. Years later I learned of Wilhelm Reich and his Orgone studies. I have since done numerous experiments on both ICEs and food preservation. I can attest there is something to it.
There are other examples, but I try hard not to discount something simply because I haven't yet learned enough to understand it. Most often, if it looks like crap, it is. However, I have been surprised and embarrassed by my lack of knowledge in the past. It has been my open mind and willingness to test and verify that has allowed me to learn much of what I now know.
