There are 'humps' and 'dips' all over the oceans, depending on latitude, longitude, Coreolis effect, gyres, tides, winds, currents, ENSO, La Nina, seamounts, thermoclines, haloclines, undersea ridges, rifts, upwellings.............
Some will not be able to be 'trusted' in a greenhouse world ( Venus has 200-mph upper winds, day and night).
