Observational and modeling studies of mass loss from glaciers and ice caps indicate a contribution to a sea-level rise of 2 to 4 cm over the 20th century.
I don't know what to believe. My eyes lie all the time (I blame the Moon. ).

0.0cm

We'd want to look at the specifics of that exact location.
There are 'humps' and 'dips' all over the oceans, depending on latitude, longitude, Coreolis effect, gyres, tides, winds, currents, ENSO, La Nina, seamounts, thermoclines, haloclines, undersea ridges, rifts, upwellings.............
Some will not be able to be 'trusted' in a greenhouse world ( Venus has 200-mph upper winds, day and night).

Like I said, I blame the Moon.

There're sea shells at Lake Titicaca at 3,812 m (12,507 ft) Texas used to be underwater.

According to the park rangers at the Grand Canyon, before the Colorado Plateau was finally thrust up to create the Grand Canyon region, Texas had already been under ocean six different times.
No humans around to see it though.
Moon, rain, carbon cycling, greenhouse gases, volcanism, plate tectonics, orbital forcing, albedo, vegetative cover, heavy cometary and meteoric bombardment.......... busy planet!

I've taken care of absolutely every problem within my control in my life and optimized every relationship , so ice melting in Antarctica 500 years into the future due to my lack of controlling the outdoor thermostat is top on my list of problems within my control.

I'm at +4656 ft altitude. Come and get me ocean rise. Even if Cali sinks into the ocean. Lack of water is a concern however.

If California sinks into the ocean it needs to happen fast that way we don't end up with tens of millions of refugees running to and ruining other perfectly good states.

I grew up on one of those islands in the Pacific.

3,000,000 years ago, the atmospheric carbon-dioxide level was 400 ppmv, and sea level was 60-feet higher than today. Presently, we're @ 412.5 ppmv.
As the months and years unfold, sea level will return to it's former 60-foot higher level. Nothing 'catastrophic.'
That would be Thwaites Glacier, a near- instantaneous five-foot seal level rise.
Reserve your tickets, popcorn, and soda-pop.
We, fortunately had a large mountain smack dab in the middle of the island so that when the typhoon season hit and the storm driven tides would rise, we would move to higher ground. Grandpa had a cave outfitted to be comfortable during this time. It housed our large family and the islanders nearby. After the storm would do it's best to clear all evidence of human habitation, we would go back down and repair our thatch and bamboo huts. Five foot sea level rise? No worries.

Catastrophic Global Warming is a first world issue. We simple people adjust. We always have.

Too late. Reno is starting to look and act like the silicon valley. They dont even get NV plates.

On the plus side, gucci cowboy boots without embedded poop really stand out at the rodeo.
