Yes my observation has been at least half of ev drivers only level 1 charged at home. Problem is some portion of the people who didn't have a level 2 receptacle installed may have tried and gotten like $3,000 to $5,000 quote because they needed a service upgrade.
I used level 1 for a few months to see how bad it sucked. I still had my gas car. I could drive the leaf 2 days, then the gas car 1 day and that was summer. I could tell winter was going to be every other day so I got that level 2 going. I used to get like 4.8 miles per kw level 1 charging. Now I get like 3.8 because I drive 75mph to and from work and don't worry about charging times.
