My solar installer stopped by this afternoon. I hadn't read his email sent 2 hours prior so it was unexpected by me. He said he was going to replace a faulty DC optimizer. I hadn't paid enough attention to realize one of twenty had gone bad.

He confused my site with my dad's, so he thought it was easily accessible ground mount. Couldn't reach the faulty inverter, so he'll be back out to fix it with the right tools to safely service it.

Thanks to everyone for subsidizing my solar. My bill last year was something like $62 for the additional electricity I needed beyond production, and $144 to maintain a meter and account.

Regarding nuclear, SA mentioned today that Germany has announced a second group of nuclear generators they intend to bring back online in addition to their previous announcement. So much for big, bad, nuclear. You don't realize what you had until it's gone.
