This is as far as I have gotten. The car is gone, but I've still got the drivetrain. It's a Lexus LX400h rear axle with 68HP. It would replace the original engine and transmission -- potentially a reversible bolt-in process. The rear mount[s] are in plane with the VW frame.The biggest hurdle would be mating the Toyota output to the VW axle.
That and I never cracked the controller/battery pack part.
