Having worked in the UTV industry for a small manufacturer it is harder than you might think to find suppliers. Those suppliers want a guarantee of large volumes to spend the hundreds of thousands to tool up. Either that or for the customer to pay for the tooling and development out of pocket and in advance.

When I was working for a tier 1 transaxle supplier we had some small customers in Europe. Not only did they pay 3x what a large customer paid for the same transaxle they had to pay up front or take out insurance to guarantee payment if they defaulted.

Then there is the reality of the current supply chain. Nobody is going to take John Deere or Polaris tooling out of production to run 100 doors for a tiny company like Arcimoto. The big guys come first in good times - they really come first right now.
