I live in a town where many things can't be bought locally, meaning a 30 minute trip to the city. The other day my friend asked where to get shoes for his daughter because she got her 1 pair wet while camping. I thought for a while and said maybe Goodwill. The only other place the farm store, and they'd just have boots.

Amazon has most things available, delivered the next day. Some things can even be delivered same day for an extra fee.

The used bookstore has come in handy in a town like mine where you'd either need to spend an hour driving plus the time to shop, or just have things delivered to the doorstep.
