As the oceans take up more and more CO2, the pH will continue to fall ,as carbonic acid concentration rises.
There will come a point where existing calcium carbonate shells and shellfish will go away. Coral reefs as well.
Minerva's Castle, at Yellowstone National Park demonstrates this process in reverse.
