No, it's not cheaper, and those who concoct those LCOE distortions are hiding the costs.

If you make the cost of dispatchable power more expensive by relying on them for a stable grid, but underutilizing the infrastructure costs without including that in the LCOE of wind and solar, then it's simply corrupt accounting.

Show me a 100% wind and solar utility that includes storage that is less than the cost of coal, and you've got an argument.
