ocean acidification
Ocean acidification may not be 'true,' however, according to Scripps, and nineteen other leading oceanographic research centers, ocean acidification is a fact.
* Abyssal ( deep ocean ) water, at 3,000-meters depth or below = 95% of all ocean water.
* Abyssal organic matter cycling in seafloor sediment helps buffer delta-pH and the effects of acidification.
* Abyssal water will rise by 1-C over the next 85-years, increasing the metabolic rate for deep organisms, requiring an increase in nutrients, while they'll be deprived by 50% of nutrients by then, due to global warming.
* Carbonic acid ( H2CO3 ) will only concentrate as a feedback.
* Loss of sea ice drives the genesis of the entire mechanism.
* Afterwards, warm surface water stratification prevents what feeble nutrient is remaining from settling/ burial.
