Yes, This kind of mirror is great for rearward / side visability.

Only thing that I wished was that somehow you can "dim" them for night use like stock mirrors ....

I kinda crudely made mine night time friendlier by cutting a long strip of window tint and attaching it to the top of the mirror bar and I can pull the strip down over the mirror at night and push it back over the top of the bar and it self curls back up but a factory solution would be nicer.

I use my side mirrors (spots) mainly to see the curb when parallel parking or backing between the lines.
