Then it would be more accurate to compare the Accord with a Camry instead of a Prius, but anyway, retaining the Prius as some sort of sub-brand, just like Toyota does with the Crown in Japan, seems to make sense even if hybrid versions of the Corolla and Camry may outsold them. You'll always find some tech geek willing to be a Guinea pig for some development of a new Prius, while the Corolla, Camry and Crown may sound "boring" to them.
