'might already be going into next ice age'

I don't have my climate workbook with me, but I believe that glaciologists have basically said the same thing.
One of the Milankovitch orbital forcing cycles, powerful enough to alter the climate, would be making a showing about now.
Earth continues to warm though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you image Earth from the Moon in infrared, it indicates an average, + 1-F, just as it would if it had no atmosphere, compared to the Moon, which averages negative 100-F.
Only until you get down to around 8-miles above the planet, does it's actual temperature show up, a global average of +57.8-F, same as 120,000-years ago, when oceans were 20'-30' higher.
Greenhouse gases already in the atmosphere will be there for a thousand years. There probably won't be any ice-ages until after we're all extinct.
