I really enjoy the appearance of the asphalt race cars from the late 1970s that were raced at Las Vegas and Mesa Marin in Bakersfield. One unique feature of these cars was the stretched bottom body panel that extended straight down from the door seam. This style looks particularly great on older body style cars like the Firebird and Trans Am. I have personal experience racing a 1968 Firebird at Mesa Marin in the late 1970s and a 1979 Trans Am in the early 1980s.
