I don't really know how long it takes to charge. I plug it in at night, and it's done in the morning!

Yes, I monitor the energy usage with a "Kill-a-Watt" meter. It shows how many amps you draw, what your wall outlet voltage is, and how many amp-hours you have used since you plugged in.

The car has been using a little less than 3KWh to recharge after a 10 mile ride.
When I figure in taxes and my renewable energy fee, my cost is about 10 cents per KWh. (Charging the 12V accessory battery is included in that 3KWh)

So, running costs is about 3 cents per mile for me.

My local gasoline prices have dropped literally $1.04 in one month. Many stations are at $2.999 per gallon right now. Lets round that to $3 for easy math.

3 cents goes into $3 100 times. That means that right now, I am driving the FINANCIAL equivelent of a 100 miles per gallon car!

You are are right. With falling gas costs, and increasing electric, I am now ONLY getting what equals 100 MPG!

I will have to design my next vehicle to be more efficient!

I haven't noticed any spike in my electric bill yet. It's usually about $35 a month (powering my whole house, plus the car, motorcycle, etc.) That's far less than the cost of one tank of gas in my 4-cylinder S10 pickup truck.
