Yeah, the 132-mph winds, on one of the slopes got my attention. I was born, and grew up out there, and I have no recollection of such events.
During the Civil War, California was hit with a 'biblical' atmospheric river, such that 'Lake Sacramento' was formed, and the state capital had to me moved until the water receded.
I never heard about the hurricane-force winds.
