Gates designing a buggy OS that's exploitable doesn't give me cause to dislike him or consider all his motives and ideas to be bad.
We're not that far off. I can hold a grudge with the best of them. Technically, he designed a Basic compiler and then stole MS-DOS from Gary Killdall by a side license with Seattle Computer Products.

What's the story behind the guy Bill Gates bought DOS from?
When IBM couldn't or wouldn't make a deal with Kildall, Microsoft bought what became MS DOS from Seattle Computer Products for $50,000 and licensed it to IBM. It was written by Tim Paterson, who mimicked CP/M's application programming interface. How much of Kildall's intellectual property he appropriated is a matter of some dispute.
So he wants to redeem himself? By hanging out with Klaus Swab and Anthony Fauci?
