Same video was linked on the other forum I visit, so I started listening last night and fell asleep. Seemed interesting despite my falling asleep, I'll finish listening.

Here's an interesting survey of Carbon capture: The Global Thermostat - A Crazy Megaproject That Just Might Work

The problem with his premise is that a thermostat can be turned up as well as down. On further review, he does address the point at 27:35
I'm the only one I recall making reference to the outdoor thermostat; mostly with the intent of humorously exposing how insanely difficult such a thing would be. Seeing the concept referred to as the global thermostat is similar.

Anyhow, once humanity obtains the ability to intentionally control the outdoor thermostat, we're going to see disagreements between regions because the "perfect" temperature is subjective. I could see one region attempting to increase temperature while others attempt to decrease it. Who will win the war of control over the outdoor thermostat? Mom's always cold.
